Breaking Barriers Series: the BIPOC Experience in Careers and Job Search Edition

Breaking Barriers is a series branching out of the Student Life BIPOC and Black Student Centered Spaces. The series will focus on the barriers that marginalized folks encounter when starting their career. It will be about centering BIPOC however, all are welcomed to attend the event.
 
Each semester, there will be a new edition of the series focusing on different barriers that BIPOC may face in their daily lives and how they break those barriers and succeed despite the odds against them. Professionals will share their experiences with Ontario Tech students and answer questions that students may have pertaining to their personal and/or professional experience. 

Winter 2022 Edition:
The Winter 2022 Series will be focusing on Breaking Barriers: the BIPOC Experience in Careers and Job Search edition in partnership with the Career Centre, the Ontario Tech BIPOC Club and the Ontario Tech Black Students Collective. 

Topics Include: 
Job Search Process- Obstacles faced by BIPOC as they look for work. 
Resume Tips- What to/not to include. 
Interview Process- Employment Standards
Inequities in the Workplace- Know your rights!
